APCEIU conducted mid-term monitoring of the local educational activities of eight Korean teachers sent to Thailand from June 20 to 23 with officials from the Office of the Basic Education Commission of the Ministry of Education of Thailand (OBEC Thailand).

On June 20, APCEIU visited Banharnjamsai Witthaya 1 School in Suphan Buri to observe the classes of Korean teachers and how they share teaching methods with fellow teachers. Teacher Park Hye-yeoun conducted an art class incorporating Korean culture, and teacher Kim Soo-hyun introduced quotes about dreams to the students and conducted an activity class to make students create their own quote bookmarks.

On the second day, APCEIU observed teachers’ classes at Thammasat Klongluang Witthayakhom School in Pathum Thani. Teacher Kim Seon-ha taught an Ecotourism class based on her travel experience, and Jeong Yu-seon introduced Korean culture to Thai students through various interesting quizzes.

Teacher Jeon Ha-kyung, who was assigned to Prathomsuksa Thammasat School, taught science lessons combined with art using the STEM education method, and teacher Kim Eun-byul presented an English lesson using diverse English quizzes.

On the last day, APCEIU visited Anuban Chonburi School based in Chonburi. Teachers Han Song-yi and Kwon Hui-kyeong taught the students English words related to emotions and jobs, respectively. After the class observations, meetings were held between school officials, the Thai Ministry of Education, and APCEIU to share their feedback on the Korea-Thailand dispatch programme.

The Thai Ministry of Education expressed its gratitude to the Korean teachers for sharing their knowledge and experience of teaching methods with Thai teachers, saying that the educational exchange programme between Korea and Thailand had a positive impact not only on Thai teachers but also on students.

The dispatch programme, which resumed after three years after the COVID-19 pandemic, will begin its second-half programme with Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, and the Philippines in August.
